Eligibility Criteria:

• A United States citizen or permanent resident
• Members of a historically underrepresented racial and ethnic minority group in STEM discipline (African American, Alaska Native, American Indian, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian and Native Pacific Islander)
• Undergraduate currently enrolled for classes full-time at an IN LSAMP Campus
• Enrolled in a STEM major that qualifies under the LSAMP NSF STEM Classification of Instructional Programs
• Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0).
• Be willing to participate in LSAMP activities including professional development, academic and social enrichment.

Current Applications

Applications are currently being accepted for the Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis Fall 2023/Spring 2024 academic year Supplementary Instruction Student Leaders/Mentors.

• 2023-24 Academic Year Supplementary Instruction Student Leaders/Mentors – Selected Supplementary Instruction Student Leaders/Mentors (SI) will lead the collaborative learning effort in designated LSAMP approved classes during the academic year, helping underrepresented minority peers with homework and other classroom learning activities under the mentorship of the course instructor. SIs will work approximately 10 hours per week for 14 weeks in fall and 14 weeks in spring. Hourly pay rate is $15/hr. SIs must complete a short reflection regarding their experience at the conclusion of each semester in which they serve as a an SI.
