Assistants

IN LSAMP utilizes graduate assistants and undergraduate students to serve as peer mentors and professional role models for the IN LSAMP scholars.

Celia Ochoa
Ambassador
Ms. Ochoa has served as a liaison for students interested in undergraduate research. Her specialty is in the area of student transfer from community college to a four-year STEM degree. She also serves as a peer mentor and tutor. Currently, she is seeking a dual Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on instrumentation and neural engineering with minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. She is currently a math tutor at the Math Assistance Center (MAC) at the C1-Level, which support the first calculus courses. She also tutors calculus at North Hall, as well as math, science, English, and Spanish with Upward Bound. Ms. Ochoa is also a research assistant for IUSM Dept Emergency Medicine.
Gabriel Rodriguez Lemus
Graduate Assistant
Gabriel serves as the graduate assistant. In this role he demonstrates strong student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success. He manages communication with scholars and coordinates professional development, academic, and social activities for the IN LSAMP Scholars. Currently, he is seeking a MS degree in the HESA program at IU Bloomington.
