Congratulations! Experts’ Choice Winner for STEM Alliances; IN LSAMP @BSU!
Dr. Patti Lang, Co-PI and Campus Director of the Indiana STEM LSAMP (IN LSAMP) at Ball State University (BSU), won one of the Experts’ Choice Awards for her video entry, Scientific Journal or Graphic Novel? A Student-Production Featuring LSAMP Research!
The video looked at how IN LSAMP students at BSU collaborated with graphic art management students to showcase their research in a novel fashion. The project was funded by IN STEM LSAMP, NSF-HRD, 1618-408 and Ball State University Sponsored Projects Administration. View online: https://youtu.be/UPNfL9moJvY
The product of the partnership between the two Ball State student groups, their faculty advisors, and the Ball State video production team, broke the traditional confines of a scholarly journal and yielded a 133-page explanation of the students’ research, their biographies, and a description of the Indiana LSAMP program—not to mention a plot, a team of superheroes called The Elements, a villain named Dr. Hazard, and a dramatic ending!
Congratulations to the #TAGA students and @PattiMurphyLang on creating a video that inspires other LSAMP leaders to connect with a creative view of broadening participation!
