Who should apply?

Are you an undergraduate student currently conducting STEM research at an Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Campus?  IN LSAMP is hosting a competitive student poster session. Faculty mentors working with undergraduate students on research are encouraged to invite their students to apply. The poster session will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, from 3:00PM to 4:30PM.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2018– SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Submit your poster abstract via the form below.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2018EMAIL ACCEPTANCE: Presenters will receive an email stating if your abstract has been accepted for presentation and details for registration.

OCTOBER 19, 2018– Arrive at the conference venue by 1:00 PM EST. Check in with the registration desk to receive your assigned poster location. The poster session starts promptly at 3:00 PM EST!

  • This the person submitting and presenting the abstract.
  • The institution where the student is currently enrolled. If the research was conducted at another institution this should be noted in the abstract.
  • Co-authors are NOT PERMITTED to co-present with the primary author. *If there is no co-author leave this field blank.

  • Select one option that best fits your research.
  • The Abstract Title should be no longer than 15 words.
  • Please copy and paste the body of the abstract into this box. This is for us to merge the abstract into the poster booklet. Do NOT include author, institution(s), or acknowledgment of funders in this box.
  • Accepted file types: doc, docx, pdf.
    350 words max. In the FORMATTED ABSTRACT Left justify all text. All abstracts should include title, authors, institute affiliation(s), the body of the abstract, and acknowledgment of funders. The body of the abstract should include introduction, methods, results, and conclusion. You do not need to make these section headers, but be sure to touch on each within the body of the abstract. NO literature citations should be included in the abstract.
  • Students must list the funder(s) of their research project. If there is more than one funder, each funder should be listed and separated by a semicolon.

    ALL ABSTRACTS must be approved by either the student's faculty advisor, research mentor, or LSAMP/LSMCE site coordinator.

Indiana LSAMP Conference

At the IN STEM LSAMP Conference, join higher education faculty, administrators, and staff across Indiana who are leading the efforts to increase participation of URM students receiving STEM degrees. The one day conference includes keynote presenters sharing real success stories, as well as breakout sessions providing how-to instruction for students on building professional networks and preparing for post-baccalaureate career opportunities, and graduate school preparation.
